rest day (was suppose to do “lucky thirteen” wod at 0530 today, but slept through my alarm.  Guessing it was a sign because I stayed up late working till 2:30am and I’ve never once slept through my alarm)
*Today is my last day in colorado springs.  What an incredible experience it has been, training under a new coach, in a new gym, at high altitude!  Things I will miss from CFSOCOS:- Super small classes, sometimes I was the only one!- Small diameter pull-up bars (if you’ve ever been on Potomac CrossFit’s, you understand)- Coach Shyla- CF SOCOS members (I truly enjoyed sharing knowledge and sweat with you all!)Things I won’t miss from CF SOCOS:- not being able to breathe- 0530am runs outside in the cold- Thrusters in 40mph winds! As much as I loved being able to train while on the road, this experience proved to be more than just training.  It really set in stone how incredible the CrossFit community is.  I don’t think there are many situations (I know, no other gyms) in life where you can walk into a room (garage for this example) and immediately be surrounded by people with the same interests and goals.  Within five minutes of my first WOD, I felt right at home (minus not being able to breathe, damn altitude).  I truly feel the friendships I made during my month here will last a lifetime and if any of you ever make it to VA/DC make sure to look me up, we’ll move some iron together!
**pictured above are squat cleans from yesterday, notice the low elbows.
